Regiment: 2nd Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Near Franklin Ten July 18, 64 Miss Clara in ancer to one of the 12, cold icy breezes must bee swimming in youd distent streams July suns can not melt thoses ice cakes away, how cold then northern blast are, they chill the blood in my heated riames I do not feel like writing it may git warm by going futher south, wich probley will halve to you must excused this letter, I am not much to write letters I may bee to fast from a well known hand if you can not read this send it back Clara I received a letter from you on the 16 and I thought that you was quite cold in it but it may be my self that thought threw cold brain, I do not know whie but it seemed that evry word was mend to be cold you spoke so seemingly that you did not care wether you wroat or not but I will ask forgiveness if I am [   ?   ] wich I am sure that you will do, you may think that I am strange in my speaking in the way that I halve but you know that if is my way of speaking Clara do not lay eny thing up on what I halve written in this letter I may often think to fast and wont wait to think twice and inquire in to the matter, you know my feeling and sure you can juge hear after wether it was you that was cold or wether it was myself that was cold PS I received a letter from your father to day but will wait till I git more time, write soon my love we ar haven a good time hear [   ?   ] garden the rail road yours with much love Ira Graves to Clara Simonds [On Envelope:] Miss Clara Simonds Watransville Tuscola Co Mich
