Miss Clara your letter I
received and was glad to hear
from you it had been a long
time sence I had hird from you
owing to being so fare from
eny plase that we ould git
eny mail or send eny we
ar in Tenn yet in the
East part East of Nashville
the people that lives hear
ar most all
[ ? ] and
we halve to take from them
everything that we halve
to live on and they halve
lost a grait deel by the
rebles and then for us to
take the rest of what they
halve got, and some of the
boys go out by their selvs
and git it and cannot give
eny receipt for what they
do git so then do not git pay
for what they halve to share
if I had my way about
it I would not let a man
go from camp with out
an officer with him and
he should receipt for all
he took of them and if
a man straid from his
command I would give
him fifty lases till
it was staped and I think
war for would go on much
better then it is, I am in
the
[ ? ]gard a gain
to day I am out to a house
a writing to you thare is

quir and my hand trembles
so that I can scarcly breath

mystery it must be that i
am going to be sick oh

think of the well I must
stop my gasping, I am sory

been better and hope by the
time I from you again
you all will be well our
