Malvern, Iowa January 16 88
Dear Clara and Family:-
I received your letter last Monday
noon. Verry sorry to hear of your
sickness I hope you are better
by this time.
I should have written at once but
I washed and baked bread last Monday
fore noon. It was verry damp. I think
I got some cold coseynently I had
the neuralgia went to bed as son as dinner
was over left the dishes for some
future time
and we had
[ ? ] mister and Mrs. Braden
come just before supper time but
I was all right by that time
Lida come in the kitchen and we had
supper in a few minutes they stayed
until Tuesday afternoon.
they are the folks that live on
watsons farm we had a first rate
viset. I think Mr. Braden very nice folks.
My arm has not got well. It is worse
after I have the neuralga
I should not want an operation
if I could help it for it may be
enlargement of the overies
I wrote a letter to S.O. last Sunday
we have not had a letter in some time
I forgot to mention my nice mittens
in my letter to him
Oh I have got my aprons all made
at last
we have had several snow stormes
the sun comes out and it goes of in a
few dayes it has ben verry pleasant
winter so far verry wam and still
there has been a big Cyclone in Arkansas
ther has been several caces of dipthery
in town the schools are still running
we are all well at this writing
Lida will write some if she gets time
she is at work on her school work
I hope this will find you better
you must let me heare from you as often
