Mose is on guard tonight. He is homesick I reckon. He has had three letters from Almina. Tom Worden got a letter from his wife tonight. Our mail came up from Nashville this morning and I did not get any from my dear wife. And I want to know if you ain’t sorry for me. Other men get letters from their wives, but I have not gotten any from mine. But I don’t blame her for it; somebody must have played a trick on us or you would have written me before this time.
It is getting late and I must go to bed. So goodnight for to night dear and loving companion. I want you to find out where to direct a letter to James and tell me whear it is direct your leter to nashville tenesee this from Amos Gibbs to his wife Amy
