Regiment: 5th Michigan Infantry Battles Mentioned: Chancellorsville, Virginia Historical Figures: Convalescent Camp near Alexandria June 22 Dear Parents As you will see by the heading of this letter that I am here I got here one week ago today how long I shall stay here I cant tell I have been quite sick for the past four days the same diseace as truobled me last summer I dont believe I weigh over 130 lbs I have grown very poor There is no news to write except that Lewis Keene has got in the invalid Corps. All the boys that were taken at Chancellorville in our Regt are on parole they look well but say they fared hard in rebeldom You may do as you think best in sending my mail here or to the Co. if you send it here direct it to the Convalescent Cap near Alex- andria Va. I cant think of any more to write this time Your Son L Franklin
