My Dear Parents
I received your letter of the 24th of Feb in due time and I was very glad to hear from you once more I had begun to think that you had not got my last and wrote another a few days since. I am well and hope this will find the same for I fear ere this that the children have got the measles. for news there is nothing of importance transpired since I wrote you last have not been chaced by them infernal rebbels since the night that we fired came here nearly the hold of Gen. Banks division is here we expect to make a move for Winchester before long where Gen Jackson has a large force of Rebels. probbaly before this reaches you the atact will be make. we have got a trip top place to stay but our duty is very hard we haft to be on guard about every other day. but as long as I am as well as I am now I can standit. I think the war will hardly end in three months but still I hope it will I was glad to hear that you had got a deed of the farm. I think that if I ever live to get out of this that I shall go out west some where.
This is a very pleasant morning not a might of snow and the sun is shining as brightly as June. tell Abbey that I know I have not answered her letters nor I can not this time for I have not go time but as soon as we stop will write to here.
