Camp [ ? ] 1
Dear Parents
I have just
received your kind letter dated October 27
and was glad to hear from home
once more. last Wednesday I received
6 letter’s that wer directed to Camp
Lyon too from you one from Orla
one from Arbelia one from Orr
[ ? ] folks
one from Hannah
[ ? ] I think that
liberty street must be in som thing
of an excitement after such
[ ? ] a
performance as that. I never would
have fooled a round like that
I would either get married or
not. I think the last letter
you sent to Camp Logan
was quite pleasing. You wanted
to know what kind of a thing
our uniform is and sword
the latter we hav not got but
expect them soon I will not
writing any thing about any of
them this now time for you wanted
to know what kind of
horse I had got and every thing
els, but just as soon as we
get our horse and arms I will
write a letter that will take you a week to read.
Nahum has been sick with the
measels but is better now
there is a great deal of sickness
in camp but I never was heathly
in my life than at present
I enjoy Camp life better
the longer I stay. Orlando is
not very well has got a
cold and it has settled on his
lungs. I do not sleep very
warm we shall get our over-
coats in a few days then it will be better
when you write next time
do not for get to write that
[ ? ] news about Frank
H. M. Last week there was
a man died in Company B
he complained at noon
of not feeling well and was
excused from duty in the
night he was then taken bleeding
at the lungs and bleed until
he got faint as was supposed
and got up to go out but
did not get farther than the
the where he fell his tent door
where he fell or at least the
next morning when the men that
wer in the tent with him woke
they saw him lying just out
of the door they went out to
see what the matter was
and to their supprise found
him dead he had a wife and
one child at home
I must close they
letter for it is most
time for the mail is
nearly ready to go out
tell Frank Forbes that he
had better write to me
if he expects to live long
I have got Charles letter
and answered it long ago
Write soon
