Dear Sister
I received
your letter of the 25th Augt
today and was glad to
hear from you and to
hear that you were all well with
the exceptions of All, to hear
that he was unwell is what I
least expected, for he has allways
had remarkable good health
as for myself I have allways
been as tough as whip leather
but I cannot stand doubl=
=quick
the life of a Soldier
may be considered by some
as a lazy one, but it is allthoget
=her different, there is a great
difference between playing
the soger and being a soldier
there is not much news that would
interest you. I wrote to John
to John last Sunday, and to
you the same day. I believe
I have just received a letter
from Albert in which he stated
that there had been a muster
there, and that the yearly camp
meeting would commence soon
I really wish that I was there
so that I could share the
enjoyment with you,
but I am content with my
lot at the present, and will
hope to meet you all there
some time, and then we will
have a downright good time,
but that will never bee
untill the war is over, and
the country is freed of

the rebbels that threaten
to destroy our great and
glorious union.
I am getting quite well again
and will soon be able to
do my duty as a soger
again, and right glad
will I be, for it is tire=
=some to lay in the hospi=
=tal for five weeks with the
[ ? ]there is a great
meny of the wisconsin sogers
sick with the measles.
