Dear Sister
I received yours
of Nov 3d last night. I am well
as usual, the reason that I did not
write is because I have been so busy
that I have not had time
we had a grand review yesterday
near Hauls Hill. there was three
Brigades of Genl McDowells division
numbering about 12 thousand men
the morning was clear but it rained
before night so that it spoiled
our fun. (2 hours later) we have
just had our sunday morning
inspection and after being out
in the rain yesterday our guns
were as bright as a new shilling
it is very pleasant this morning
there is very little sickness in
camp. I receided that argus that
you sent but the transcript has
not came yet. I send the Herald
and republican quite often but
lately there is so little news
in them that it is hardly
worth while to read them
it is imposible for me to
learn the name of Lieut F.
as he is with his regiment
near Harpers Ferry, and I dont
think it would do any good
for I dont think it is Robt
I have been on duty with
the California regiment
at the chain bridge V.A.
when our troops took posession
of it, you must give yourself
no uneasyness about me for I
have very good winter clothing
and plenty of them. we was
paid last friday $26
I got a letter from Albert
about two days ago he wrote that
the folks were all well in
Newburgh and Augusta he
wrote that he would leave
A for Harrisburgh Penn in
about two weeks
there is nothing to write
I will send you the N.Y.
illustrated news with this
and some Postage Stamps
and I shall look for them
sent back about once a week
the drum is beating for church
so I must cut short to
attend Church for it is a
rare thing out here, as we
have no Chaplain of our own
but there is one that comes
to preach to us through
charity, a
write soon give my love to
all the folks to John and
the rest of the family and
receive the same from
your Aff Brother
G.W. Fisher
P.S. dont forget to write
