My Own Wife.

and with those who to judge of their
actions are rejoiced to see me.
and I am sure I was pleased
to see their old familiar faces.
Last night at ten I came into
camp and although Co “C” was abed
as a good soldier should be I did
not sleep until I had received
a friendly and hearty grasp
of the hand from all
I staid in
Brattleboro until nine oclock
Wednesday morning. Thursday
at six A.M. I was in Wash=
ington. I went to see Osman
this morning and have been
with him all day he is tough
and much pleased to see me.
his camp is three miles from
mine. So we will see each other
often.
Sis. you have a dear brave
heart you bore our parting
nobly. and I am glad to be
able to think that though you
long anxiously and dearly
for my return you will not
be uneasy. thus making matters
worse for both of us.
The boys are
all anxious to have one of my
pictures. and I will have to have
a couple dozen as soon as I can
get the money to spare.
I found
Capt. Buxton of the 2d U.S.SS
at Brattleboro he came through
with me. He has been home on
a twenty days sick leave
and got married on that
he
[ ? ] time was short
Give my love to all. I shall
write them soon as I get fairly
settled.
