My Dearly Loved Husband.
Yours of the 10th
came last night for which I am thankfull
as I always am to receive your letters.
I hope your bunk is a good one and am
glad it is wide enough for two for it
is best to be prepared for any thing that
may happen. no “I cant see it.
Those “Wedding words” are very pretty
and as they are appropriate I thank you
just as much as if they were original
Do you know what the Third Mich.
are in Troy for and if they are going to
stay there any length of time.
I suppose Mother must be lonesome and
so am I. but I will not say I wish I
was there for if she were here I dont know
as I should care if I know I never
should set my foot inside of Grand Rapids
again
I think it is strange if Mary has
got over her grief so soon. I could not.
such I blow would be as sure death to.
me as a dagger thrushed to my heart although
perhaps not so sudden. what would life
be to me if it were not for you? if you
were taken away, nothing the world would
be a blank. What is the use
of my writing that way I feel confident
that such a blow is not for me.
Leonard has been at home this week.
Monday morning after he went back to
work he was chopping and I suppose he
thought flesh would be easier to cut the
wood so he tried his leg. he cut it just
below the knee it struck the bone.
I tried to tare the nail off from my
thumb yesterday and as I made poor
work of it it is quite sore and is hard
work to hold my pen.
The folks all send their love and you have
mine.
I dont know yet when I can go to Grand-
Fathers will let you know as soon as I can
find out.
