My Darling Wife
Yours of the 15th was
received this afternoon. Thank you for the violet.
Also the letter. I look for a letter every day
and if it does not come I have all sorts of
fancies. Am getting to be a regular old woman.
Think you are sick and wish I was out of
this. Then get a letter and conclude I will
stay awhile longer especially as I can not
help myself. I cannot see how you could
better yourself about a house. The trouble of
moving would be more than the difference
in rent unless you were to stay for years.
I am getting terribly disgusted with
the whole management of this thing a few
Officers have to do the same day as though
the Regts were full, and of course an Adjt.
Gets the curses simply because he is Executive
Officer of the Regt. not that I get many but
I am expecting them every day.
To day has been terrible hot. The warmest
of the season. Some are prophesying Malicious
diseases for the summer but we have a very
healthy location. The Grand Armies of the
Republic are to be reviewed next week whether
we will be present or not we do not know.
I hope so at least if every thing was not
so unsettled I would want you to come down
to see it but I do not know as I could show
you around if you were here. I hope for a
decision from the examining board soon.
My love and best wishes to all
A. Love.
Your Ownsome kiss.
Gardie
