There has been a prolonged silence
between us two. I have very often
felt that I ought to write you, But
do not know what I have not.

highly appreciated by me so indeed, is

I have nothing to live for now
All of my bright dreams, hopes for
the future are forever blasted.
How

seems to me now. I fear there is no
more enjoyment in store for me.
Still I will not wish him back
in this world of woe. For I know he
is so mucher happier in his Heavenly
home.
I hope I shall become more recon-
ciled to it. for I feel so very sad all
of the time. I am attempting to teach
this summer. But I fear the deep
sorrow which is weighing on my heart
will detract from the interest and
attention which the school should
receive. Still endeavor to discharge
my duty faithfully as I can
How many broken hearts this was has
made How many homes it has

and all the kindred ties which it has
severed. It has spread gloom and
devastation throughout this land.
