My Dearly Beloved Wife.
My Mary.
Yours of the 4th
I have just received thank you for that
present. it is real pretty I wear stand up
collars now think I shall change again soon
I am glad that you were not badly bored
the fourth. You think my broken head
ought to be good for
[ ? ] days. “Vary good”
though my head is not level yet. I send you a piece
of what was used in tying Mrs. Sueratt when
she was hung. the wide strip was tied above
her hips the other was around her hands. I
send you the chronicle with a full account
of the execution. I have received an
Order to be mustered to morrow. It is
expected that we will leave here this
week some say we are going to Frederick
Maryland and some to Baltimore. go when
we will we shall have better quarters than
here.
My best wishes to all and love and
[ ? ] kiss to Mary
Gardie
