Friend Clark.
I went to town Saturday
in the afternoon (last) did not go to the
P.O. until after the eastern train came in
so of course did not get Your letter till
some 15 or 20 minutes after You had
passed through, when I took Your
letter out & read it. I was mad & out
of all manner of patience with my-self.
I came home & told my folks & they also
gave me a real scolding for being so
careless. Why did you not stop any how,
we should have been much pleased
to had you stop & stay’ed over Sunday.
next time you come through. You must
stop & it I am not at home it will be
all the same. for my folks all know
you as well as you know your-self.
I shall have to come all the way to
the Rapids to see you now. I was
intending to come out that way this summer or fall
& try to finde some of the boys, tell me where you
live so that I can finde you. how did you
leave matters at the south? Where is Eyre?
I hear from Capt. Adams often, he is enj-
oying himself in the bosom of his family
at home. Nesbitt I think has gone
to mountains, why did. You not remain in
the service? lets go to Europe now.
I am ready to go any time. remember
me to your folks. I forgot to tell you
that I see lake,
[ ? ] &some of the other
Boys at Detroit the 4”, & heard from
nearly all of the rest of them.
write me soon
Sincerely Yours
