Regiment: 1st U.S. Volunteers Sharpshooters Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: I love you Grand Rapids, August 1st 1865 My Dear Husband, Darling Gardie: Why do I not get a letter? if I could have my choice tonight between any amount of riches, and a letter from my Darling Husband. how quick I would take the letter, it would be worth thousands of dollars to me. I am so afraid you are sick that I cannot rest at all. I know you write me just as often as you can, but I am so nervous that if it has been a little longer than usual I imagine all sorts of things that may have happened to you and it makes the almost sick. O my darling how I long to see you. Love me always. Carrie sent me word to- night that she was coming down here to morrow afternoon and bring her baby, if I get a letter to morrow noon I guess I am all right but if I do not I fear she will find me rather dull. Aug 2d I intended to finish this last night but was to lazy. I guess you will begin to think I do not intend to write to you any more, but I do.
