I was quite astonish ed at the compliment that you sent me for I always [  ?  ], ore expecially when [  ?  ], under a distressing felling of homeliness Charley is first rate as lively as a cricket the greatest difficulty we have is to [  ?  ] his appetite. He is a great feeder but we keep his food so simple that he thrives well The Knoxes did not return with Charlotte neither did Mr G so you see we have quite a quiet house for which I feel thankful To day is Sunday & Aunt Betsey is with us which is pleasant for my father I am glad that one of your eyes is some better. You must be careful not to over eat. for in that way you directly induce congestion in the cerebral circulation nothing new here We are all as well as usual Wm has been to Bos- ton twice [  ?  ] week something about Sloth I believe A’n’l you coming home to Thanksgiving?
