My dear Davidson
I have but a mo-
ment to write by A. Ismen who
is going home on sick leave.
Our Army will probably move
to-morrow, and before you re-
ceive this we may be in and
through another battle. Our
things are all packed and ready.
We expect to have an active
summer campaign and are
sending to Nashville all our sum-
perfluous baggage. My “chist”
goes up to-day and I expect
to live in my satchel for the
next three months. Watch
the papers and see what we do.
Grant is ahead just now, but
that will not do. Rosecrans
is going to show his metal.
I will write you again as
soon as I can after moving
Write to me. Good bye.
God bless you all.
Your affect brother
