Dear Sister:
I rec’d your Thursday.
It is strange that you did not
hear from me. I think I have
written every week. I have been
on picket twice my last &
came off all right. One of our
co. was badly wound while on
picket last Wednesday. We
think he will get well. I
have got a bullet which was
shot at me while on picket
It went about a foot to the right
of me. I though I would send
you a piece of it, but will

You said you did not say anything
about a female in Kalamazoo.

meant. For you said you mis-
trusted that “a little ada” had

I know the reason why I do
not have that active faith
at all times, is my neglect. I
need much grace. A number
of our Co. are interested in
regard to their soul’s welfare.
I hope they will not fall back.
Harey is well & doing well.
I think he will soon be promoted
to 1
st Lieutenant soon.
You must excuse a short
letter this time. For I have
not much time. My health
is the best that it has been
since I enlisted.
Pray much for me.
Your brother
Caroden.
