About the Author
Edwin B. Wight, of Detroit, Michigan, enlisted as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 24th Michigan Infantry Company A on July 24, 1862. He was mustered into service that same day. Wight was promoted to Captain on July 26 and then to Major on June 1, 1863. On June 22, he was transferred from Company A to Field and Staff. He was listed as being wounded on July 1 at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Edwin B. Wight was discharged for disability on November 17.Documents for this Author:
