James E. White was residing in Kalamazoo, Michigan when he enlisted in the 13th Michigan Infantry on October 3, 1861. He was mustered into Company G on January 17, 1862 as a 23-year old 1st Lieutenant. On December 24, White was promoted to Adjutant and then to Captain on January 20, 1863. James E. White resigned for disability on September 3.Documents for this Author
