About the Author
Elias B. Stone, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, enlisted as a Super 2nd Lieutenant in the 6th Michigan Cavalry Company M on September 4, 1862. He was mustered into service at the age of 27 on October 11. Stone was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on March 16, 1863 and to 1st Lieutenant on May 23, 1865. On November 7, he was transferred from the 6th Michigan Cavalry to the 1st Michigan Cavalry Company D. Elias B. Stone was discharged from service on March 10, 1866 at Salt Lake City, Utah.Documents for this Author:
