About the Author
Enos S. Steadman resided in Unadilla, Michigan when he enlisted in the 26th Michigan Infantry Company B on August 6, 1862. He was mustered into service as a Sergeant on September 15 at the age of 28. On August 16, 1864, Steadman was taken prisoner at White Oak Swamp, Virginia. Enos S. Steadman died of starvation as a prisoner of war on December 12 at Salisbury, North Carolina. He was buried at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina.Documents for this Author:
