About the Author

Linus T. Squire, of Quincy, Michigan, enlisted in the 11th Michigan Infantry on August 24, 1861. He was mustered into Company H as a 26-year old Sergeant that same day. Linus T. Squire was discharged from service on September 30, 1864 at Sturgis, Michigan.
