About the Author
Frederick D. Seeley, of Somerset, Michigan, enlisted as a Private in the 18th Michigan Infantry on August 6, 1862 at Somerset. He was mustered into Company G on August 26 at the age of 18. On September 24, 1864, Seeley was listed as being a prisoner of war. Frederick D. Seeley died in the S.S. Sultana explosion on the Mississippi River on April 27, 1865.Documents for this Author:
