About the Author
German immigrant Adolph Schill (b. 1836) enlisted as a Captain in the 17th Missouri Infantry Company K on September 27, 1861. He was mustered into service at the age of 26 that same day. Schill was discharged for chronic laryngitis on December 28. He later mustered into the 1st Michigan Light Artillery Batty K on December 23, 1862 as a 2nd Lieutenant. His other promotions include 1st Senior Lieutenant, February 21, 1863 and Captain, April 11, 1865. Adolph Schill was discharged from service on July 22 at Detroit, Michigan. He died on August 1, 1915 in Denver, Colorado.Documents for this Author:
