Rogers, Remus

About the Author

Remus Rogers was residing in Algoma, Michigan when he enlisted as a Private in the 6th Michigan Cavalry Company B on September 1, 1862 at Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was mustered into service at the age of 18 on October 11. Rogers was wounded severely in his left leg on July 14, 1863 at Falling Waters, Maryland. This wound led to the amputation of his leg. Remus Rogers died of his wounds on July 30 at Hagerstown, Maryland. He is buried at the Antietam National Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland at gravesite No. 2,391.
