About the Author
Residing in Almena, Michigan, 21 year old William Reed enlisted as a Private in the 1st Michigan Engineers Company G on September 16, 1861 at Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was mustered into service on October 29. William Reed died of disease on April 23, 1863 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and is buried in the National Cemetery, Stone River, Tennessee.Documents for this Author:
