About the Author

Walter Pullman, of Allegan, Michigan, enlisted as a Private in the 13th Michigan Infantry on January 3, 1861 at Monterey, Michigan. He was mustered into Company C on January 17, 1862 at the age of 18. Walter Pullman was discharged from service on July 25, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky.
