About the Author
Harrison D. Plank, of Dundee, Michigan, enlisted in the 18th Michigan Infantry on August 11, 1862 at Dundee. He was mustered into Company H as a 21-year old Private on August 26 and was later promoted to Corporal. Plank was taken prisoner on September 24, 1864 at Athens, Alabama. He was listed as being confined at Cahaba, Alabama on September 25. On April 22, 1865, Plank was exchanged at Vicksburg, Mississippi. Harrison D. Plank died in the S.S. Sultana explosion on the Mississippi River on April 27, 1865.Documents for this Author:
