About the Author
Sylvester R. Norton, of Madison, Michigan, enlisted as a Sergeant in the 18th Michigan Company B on July 23, 1862 at Adrian, Michigan. He was mustered into service on August 26 at the age of 24 and later was promoted to 1st Sergeant. His other promotion was to 2nd Lieutenant of Company G on August 16, 1864. Sylvester R. Norton was discharged from service on June 26, 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee.Documents for this Author:
