About the Author
Robert A. Moon, of Big Rapids, Michigan, enlisted as a 1st Lieutenant in the 6th Michigan Cavalry Company I on September 1, 1862 at Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was mustered into service on October 11 at the age of 30. Moon was taken prisoner on October 18, 1863 at Charles Town, West Virginia. He was confined at Macon, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina. On May 9, 1865, Moon was listed as being returned. Robert A. Moon was discharged from service on November 24 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He lived in Big Rapids, Michigan after the war.Documents for this Author:
