Henry Loss was residing in Monroe County, Michigan when he enlisted in the 6th Michigan Infantry Company F on August 7, 1861 in Saline, Michigan. He was mustered into service as a Musician on August 20 at the age of 19. Loss was discharged for disability on July 6, 1864 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
