About the Author
Charles Knapp was residing in Genesee County, Michigan when he enlisted in the 16th Michigan Infantry on August 8, 1861 at Flint, Michigan. He was mustered into Company C as a 22-year old Private on September 7. Knapp re-enlisted in the service on December 24, 1863 at Rappahannock Station, Virginia. Charles Knapp was discharged from service on July 8, 1865 at Jeffersonville, Indiana.Documents for this Author:
