About the Author
Adelbert R. Hatton enlisted as a Private in the 5th Michigan Cavalry Company B on December 30, 1863 at Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was mustered into service on January 7, 1864 at the age of 19. Hatton was listed as joining the regiment on February 15 at Stevensburg, Virginia. On July 11, he was taken prisoner at Trevilian Station, Virginia. He was released on November 20. Adelbert R.
