About the Author

On August 1, 1861, Jacob Geniack enlisted in the 1st Michigan Infantry Company I at the age of 25 as a Private at Marquette County, Michigan. He was mustered into service on August 24 and was discharged on August 1, 1864 at Weldon Railroad, Virginia.
