Fleming, Robert

About the Author

Robert Fleming was residing in Adrian, Michigan when he enlisted as a Private in the 17th Michigan Infantry on August 12, 1862 at Ypsilanti, Michigan. He was mustered into Company E on August 19 at the age of 20. Fleming was listed as being wounded in June of 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia. On May 1, 1865, he was promoted to Corporal. Robert Fleming was discharged from service on June 3 at Delaney House in Washington, D.C. After the war he lived in Shelby, Michigan.
