About the Author
At the age of 19, David J. Durand enlisted in the 20th Michigan Infantry Company H as a Private on July 26, 1862 at Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was mustered into service on August 19. On April 8, 1863, Durand was promoted to Principal Musician. David J. Durand was discharged on May 30, 1865 at Delaney House in Washington, D. C.Documents for this Author:
