About the Author
Andrew W. Duggan resided in Detroit, Michigan where at the age of 27 he enlisted in the 1st Michigan Cavalry Company B on August 25, 1861 as a 1st Lieutenant. On September 7, Duggan was mustered into service where he received several promotions: September 5, 1862, Captain; October 25, 1864, Major; May 25, 1865, Lieutenant Colonel by Brevet; and, December 4, Lieutenant Colonel. He was wounded on June 12, 1864 at Trevillian Station, Virginia and was discharged from service on March 26, 1866.Documents for this Author:
