About the Author

Herbert Daniels, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, enlisted as a Private in the 7^th Rhode Island Infantry Company B on June 30, 1862. He was mustered into service on September 4. On February 1, 1865, Daniels was transferred from Company B to Company C. Herbert Daniels was discharged from service on June 9, 1865.
