About the Author
John Gault Crawford was born on April 21, 1834 in Oakham, Massachusetts. He resided in Fentonville, Michigan when he enlisted as a Sergeant in the 2nd Michigan Cavalry Company L on May 2, 1861 at Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was mustered into service on October 2 at the age of 27. Crawford was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on September 9, 1862 and to Adjutant on November 15. John Gault Crawford resigned and was discharged on March 31, 1863 and he lived in Manchester, New Hampshire after the war.Documents for this Author:
