About the Author
George H. Collins, of Fayette County, Pennsylvania, enlisted as a 1st Sergeant in the 142nd Pennsylvania Infantry Company H on August 19, 1862. He was mustered into service that same day. Collins was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on April 10, 1863 and then to 1st Lieutenant on June 28. George H. Collins was killed on May 5, 1864 at Wilderness, Virginia.Documents for this Author:
