Cole, William F.

About the Author

William F. Cole, of Marshall, Michigan, enlisted as a Private in the 26th Michigan Infantry Company B on December 5, 1862 at Hanover, Michigan. He was mustered into service that same day at the age of 28. On August 25, 1864, he was taken prisoner at Reams’ Station, Virginia. William F. Cole died of starvation as a prisoner of war on February 28, 1865 at Salisbury, North Carolina.
