About the Author
Horatio T. Cliff, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, enlisted in the 20th Michigan Infantry Company H as a Private on August 20, 1862 at Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was mustered into service at the age of 29 on August 28. Cliff’s promotions included Corporal on December 12 and Assistant Surgeon on December 28, 1864. He was transferred from the 20th Michigan Infantry to the 17th Michigan Infantry Field and Staff on January 20, 1865. Horatio T. Cliff was discharged from service on June 3 at Delaney House in Washington, D.C. After the war, he lived in Detroit, Michigan. He is buried at the Soldier’s Home Cemetery in Grand Rapids Township, Kent County, Michigan.Documents for this Author:
