About the Author
Robert Campbell, of Hillsdale, Michigan, enlisted as a Private in the 4th Michigan Infantry Company E on July 1, 1862 at Falmouth, Michigan. He was mustered into service at the age of 26 that same day. Campbell was promoted to 1st Lieutenant and Quartermaster Sergeant on September 1. Robert Campbell was discharged from service on June 28, 1864 at Detroit, Michigan. He lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan after the war.Documents for this Author:
