About the Author
John W. Camp resided in Hillsdale County, Michigan when he enlisted as a Private in the 18th Michigan Infantry Company D on July 31, 1862. He was mustered into service at the age of 19 on August 26. John W. Camp died of disease on July 4, 1864 at Decatur, Alabama. He was originally interred at Decatur, Alabama, but was moved to Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth, Mississippi.Documents for this Author:
