About the Author
On January 3, 1863, Private Charles R. Bonfoey enlisted at the age of 18 in the 1st Michigan Sharpshooters Company D. He was mustered into service on March 31 and was taken prisoner on July 30, 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia. Bonfoey was returned on April 29, 1865. Charles R. Bonfoey was discharged from service on June 29 at Washington, D. C. He was buried at Almena, Michigan.Documents for this Author:
