About the Author

At the age of 40, Samuel P. Babcock enlisted as a Private in the 6th Michigan Infantry Company C on February 24, 1864 at Fabius, Michigan. He was mustered into service on February 27. Samuel P. Babcock was killed on September 10 at Memphis, Tennessee.
