About the Author

Charles H. Adams was born in Oakland County, Michigan. He was residing in Ingham County when he enlisted in the 3rd Michigan Infantry Company G on May 13, 1861 at Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was mustered into service on June 10. Charles H. Adams was discharged for chronic rheumatism on February 29, 1864 at Washington, D.C. He lived in Lansing, Michigan after the war.
