Wify is
a little bit disappointed to night
because she did not get one word
from her soldier boy. but I guess
she had better not say much for
I presume she has disappointed him
many a time when she had not as
good a reason for it as he has. if you
are moving you must be very busy.
and I fear you are sick. One kiss
Orman and Milo were here to dinner
to day. (I wish Gardie might have been)
Milo got home last Sunday he shows
the marks for the small-pox very plain.
they say that Bernards wife is homesick
and wants him to go back again.
Uri is in Lowell, book-keeper in a
store. I believe he has the place for
a year, Orman says he thinks he is
going to be married and take his
wife up there to work at her trade. she
is a milliner. July 26

Sarah Snyder came in last evening
so I did not finish my letter. she is
crazy yet over that puzzle and says
when you come home she will know
how it is done.
I see by last nights paper that Gen.
Byron R. Pierce, has got another “star” on
his shoulder been promoted to Maj.
General.
Milo was here again to day. he has applied
for a pension. and had his
papers made out today.
